The Wranglers lost their season opener, 4-1, to Alaska in Anchorage on Friday night.
Las Vegas scored the first goal of the game, by left wing Mick Lawrence with an assist from veteran center Chris Ferraro, with about four minutes left in the first period.
The Wranglers, 0-for-7 on the power play, didn’t score again.
Colin Hemingway scored twice for the Aces, and Alexandre Imbeault and defenseman Mike Gauthier also tallied goals for Alaska.
Aces goalie J.P. Lamoreux earned the victory by stopping 27 of 28 shots by the Wranglers.
John DeCaro started the game between the nets for Las Vegas but left the game in the second period, when emergency reserve goalie Bryan Bridges took over.
Las Vegas plays the Aces in Sullivan Arena again Saturday night, then it returns for its home opener against the expansion Ontario Reign on Thursday night at the Orleans Arena.
