Air Force plus-7.5 vs. UNLV: $770 to win $700
The Rebels are back on the road with about six and a half healthy players, and if that’s not reason enough to bet against them, I also take comfort in UNLV’s recent history at Air Force: two losses and an overtime victory (oh, plus a blowout win, but I’m counting on that as an outlier).
UNLV was actually a slight underdog last year when it made this trip on Valentine’s Day, the team’s first game without Rashad Vaughn. This year, they’re down two big men (Stephen Zimmerman Jr. and Ben Carter, both out with knee injuries) and point guard Jerome Seagears is battling issues with his back and shooting hand.
Even knowing how awful Air Force has been this season, I’m surprised to see the number this high and I’ll gladly take the underdog that has covered its last three straight at home.
