Vegas Play of the Day: Western Conference All-Stars vs. Eastern Conference All-Stars

USA Basketball - don't post gallery

Team USA basketball member Chris Paul directs teammates in a drill during practice Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at UNLV’s Mendenhall Center.

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point.

Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Western Conference All-Stars minus-4 against Eastern Conference All-Stars: $330 to win $300

This worked once this week so let’s keep rolling with the exhibition gambling.

Just like the Rising Stars Challenge, I admit that I don’t actually have any idea what’s going to happen. No one is going to play any defense and as far as I’m concerned the game will be pretty much unwatchable.

So why lay the points? Because no one properly guarding Kevin Durant and Steph Curry is a scary proposition. Plus alley-oops are the other staple of any All-Star game, and the West has Chris Paul to loft dunks to Blake Griffin all night if they so choose.

There’s no way I would bet this game in real life but if you’re that bored and don’t feel like going antiquing, you could do worse than the West.

Standings: Bern (10-5, $11,050), Keefer (4-7, $8,517.50), Brewer (4-8-2, $7,610)
