Bees blank 51s 4-0

Las Vegas' plummet to the bottom of the Pacific Coast League continues to gain momentum as the Salt Lake Bees shut out the 51s 4-0 in front of 5,822 fans at Cashman Field Saturday night.

The 51s (6-16) have now lost two straight at home to the Bees (15-7) with the final contest of their four-game series at 12:05 p.m. Sunday.

Following five scoreless innings, the Bees broke the game open in the top of the sixth when Matthew Brown doubled to left field to score Chris Pettit and Bobby Wilson for the 2-0 lead.

Two innings later, Sean Rodriguez smashed a two-run home run to left field off Sean Stidfole to score Pettit and put the Bees on top 4-0.

Mike MacDonald picked up the victory for Salt Lake, allowing just four hits in seven innings. Las Vegas pitcher Brad Mills dropped to 0-3 for the season.
