51s rally in 11th inning for 6-5 win

The Las Vegas 51s earned a split of their home-opening series with Colorado Springs on Monday night with a dramatic 11th-inning rally, prevailing 6-5.

Wade Miller started the game for the 51s, going 5 innings and keeping them in the contest, and it headed into extras, tied 3-3 after the 9th.

A Matt Murton ground-out in the top of the 10th put the Sky Sox up 4-3, before a Brett Harper RBI single tied things up in the bottom half of the inning.

Colorado Springs took another one-run lead in the 11th when a throwing error by reliever T.J. Beam allowed a run to cross.

Oddly enough, Beam would come away with his first win of the year. Russ Adams hit an RBI double to center, and later scored on a Randy Ruiz single, bumping the 51s' record to 3-8.

Adams and catcher J.P. Arencibia had 3 hits apiece for Las Vegas, who opens yet another home series on Tuesday -- a 4-game set with Fresno. Tuesday's contest is set to begin at 7:05 p.m. at Cashman Field.
