51s crack win column, split double-dip at Salt Lake

The Las Vegas 51s' first win of the 2009 season came on the back end of a double-header on Wednesday at Salt Lake.

After dropping the opener 11-4 -- a make-up from Tuesday's rain-out -- the 51s prevailed 6-4 in the night-cap behind 5 innings from Wade Miller, a strong bullpen showing and a 3-run homer from first baseman Brett Harper.

Brian Burres took the loss in the 7-inning opener, surrendering 6 hits and 5 earned runs in 3 innings tossed.

Another veteran arm -- Miller -- took the bump in the second game. He got all the support he needed with Harper's bomb in the top of the third, which extended the 51s' lead to 5-0.

After Miller gave up 4 runs in the bottom half of the inning, Bryan Bullington and Jeremy Accardo each threw a scoreless inning to shut the door.

Accardo, who saved 30 games in place of B.J. Ryan for the Blue Jays in 2007, recorded his first save of the season.

The 51s wrap up the 4-game set with the Bees on Thursday at 5:35 p.m. before returning to Cashman Field for Friday's home opener against Colorado Springs.
