Rebels add two more commitments; Harrison to decide Monday or Tuesday (UPDATED)

UNLV football coach Mike Sanford and assistant Andre Patterson took in Sunday's hoops contest at the Orleans Arena sitting on either side of Dunbar (Md.) High senior linebacker Horace Miller, who committed to the Rebels a week ago.

His high school teammate, Courtney Bridget, was one of two prospects to give a verbal commitment to UNLV over the weekend. Bridget, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound physical type, joined Bishop Gorman safety John Therrell -- the son of UNLV defensive coordinator Dennis Therrell.

The highest-profile recruit in town this weekend, however, was former Palo Verde star and one-time UNLV signee Jarrell Harrison. The City College of San Francisco safety told Sanford and his staff that he'll inform them of his decision early this week.

"I'm probably going to make a decision either tomorrow or Tuesday," Harrison said Sunday evening.

He is expected to choose between UNLV, North Carolina State and Missouri. He will sign as a mid-year transfer on Wednesday afternoon.

"I didn't make a decision on the spot, but I definitely was happy I had a chance to see what UNLV had to offer and how they've turned it around," Harrison elaborated. "When I was coming in when I first signed, it was the whole rebuilding process, coach Sanford was preaching change. This past year they played some pretty good football.

"It's just a different type of atmosphere around there."
