Here's what spokesman Jarrod Agen said in response to the revelation of that tape of the Sharron Angle-Scott Ashjian meeting:
"Sharron expressed what many working families in Nevada and across the country are feeling. They are angry with Harry Reid, they are angry with Washington DC, and they want blunt plain-spoken leaders who are willing to shake things up. Sharron represents the interests of Nevada, not the interests of Washington DC like Harry Reid does, and that's why she is going to win."
Not surprisingly, Team Reid called the tape a "bombshell" and put out a memo that read in part:
"Sharron Angle engaged in an act of supreme hypocrisy (even for her) during their secret meeting – attempting to cut a deal with Ashjian to get him off the ballot, and openly trashing the very same national Republicans that are supporting her candidacy."
This one may have legs....

OMG, this is too funny! Send Crazy Sharron to a meeting, to make a deal???? This is more than funny. The backwoods country hick isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed! Need I say more???
Pretty soon, she'll have enough material for a "Greatest Hits" album!
"Angle's Mangles"...
The only hard part will be choosing from SO MUCH MATERIAL!!!
wow, I bet some of those Washington DC campaign advisers are going to be asking her what parts are broken in her damn fool head that she let this happen.
This doesn't show well for the GOP in Nevada, first all the stuff that happened with Sue Lowden, and not all this Angle baggage. Its funny how ANY GOP person who was running back in March was shown as 11 points or more ahead of Harry Reid...and now Harry Reid is starting to gain a lead on Angle. These antics on the Angle Campaign, its like watching episodes of "The three stooges".
Sarah Palin also said she wanted to,
"shake things up".
That's the dumbest republican statement ever
used.
IT MEANS, DO NOTHING.
Bwaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!
Senator Reid's record stinks:
Can you believe how Senator Reid Voted on Illegal Immigration: doe's this sound like a Man who cares about his country?
Voted YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security. (May 2006)
Voted NO on building a fence along the Mexican border. (Sep 2006)
Voted NO on limit welfare for immigrants. (Jun 1997)
Voted NO on declaring English as the official language of the US government. (Jun 2007)
Reject photo ID requirements for voting. (Sep 2005)
Voted YES on continuing federal funds for declared "sanctuary cities". (Mar 2008)
Voted NO on requiring photo ID to vote in federal elections. (Jul 2007)

Thanks bobbyg.
Wow, pretty smart on Ashijian's part (the taping, not necessarily the leak). Maybe this guy is US Senate material? Angle sure isn't.
Sorry Tea Partiers, but you're really taking it on the chin.
Scott Ashjian is the Tea Party candidate and crazy Angle is the GOP candidate yet crazy Angle offers Ashjian some of her GOP 'juice' if he'll pull out of the race and allow her to claim the deranged teabagger label.
Not even Steven King could come up with such an outlandish scenario. These nutty baggers are off the freaking hook!
I just read an article in Newsweek, a VERY respected publication. They informed Crazy Sharron they were going to run it. A reporter fron Newsweek asked her for her opinion, her reply?? "YOU JUST BELIEVE HARRY REID'S LIES" Really??? What is the matter with your country hick brain?? You can't answer a simple question?? Just so you know Crazy Sharron, Newsweek is NOT the Enquirer.
I wonder if the tape is legal isn't Nevada a both party notice state?
mred, you are talking about a tape being admissable in Court. The law does not apply to a public forum.
Ashjian wanted an apology from the Tea Party Express they and the GOP have fought his involvement on the ballot so now after trying to strong arm him they are now begging him and they still refuse to give him the apology so he got even when he recorded the conversation and released it to shed the bad light on them.
Seems fair to me they got him, He got them, So now there even.

Suggest removal Come on, pmontg53, stay on topic for once, huh?
For the record, my disconnected wingnut brother, absolutely NO ONE reads your lists anymore.
How about offering up a comment that is actually RELATED/RELEVANT to the blog topic for a change

Jon Ralston got a chain in your nose. He lead you around like a pack of wondering pups. Notice the titles of most of his articles, there are attacks on Angle, how can I play by Democrat ruls, and win? I'm trying to help get Sharron Angle in office, Senator Reid needs to go to Mexico, he's more of a Politician for anyone south of the US Border. It really does me good to know that you are reading my post
Ashjian was put into the race by Harry Reid. He is connected to Obama. Angle is stupid to have any personal contact with him. She is now paying the price for talking to this dude.
I believe that Nevada is a two party state for recording conversations. Therefore, Ashjian should be indicted.
AnnieK and mred:
The only criminal statutes related to recording of conversations are contained in Chapter 200 of Nevada Revised Statutes. NRS 200.650 does prohibit recording by a third party but does not criminalize recordings by a participant in the conversation.
Another posting board, another CRAPPY LIST posted by pmontg53. Lord, will it never end? And if you feel you must sound off, please do the rest of us a favor and purchase a dictionary and a Style Manual so that we can make some sense of your drivel.
Poor spelling and fragmented sentence structure detract from your arguments effectivity as people will ignore what you write because they believe no educated person would write so badly. Nothing personal, dude, just some friendly advice.
Maybe I am being dense, but Ashjian's name is on the ballot in black and white for all the voters to see and check if they so desire that has already been sent out. Early voting starts, at least in my county, on October 16th. How is he supposed to get out or drop out now?
It shows how cynical and disingenuous Angle really is. Ashjian was right in recording the conversation, although taped evidence of what she has said has never stopped Aagle from lying about what she has said, even one day later!
As if we needed any further evidence, this tidily proves that Angle is not a harmlessly misguided woman standing on principles -- she's a callous, dangerous person who is willfully set upon destruction and selling Nevadan's down the river.
Voting for Sharron Angle is tantamount to committing suicide.
Crazy tea party racists pulling GOP down. That is exactly what happens when you let Frankenstein grow in your basement GOP! Manufactured anger can only take you so long.
The backtracking nutcase's shenanigan is on Yahoo and CNN. What a pathetic hypocrite. She's done in Nevada!! She needs to go back home and Nevadans will show her the way out come November.
Bravo Repukeblicans!!!!!
"Angle shows her lack of political skill with this being pulled on her"
Her opponents lack of political skills led to this being pulled on themselves, because it may quite easily backfire:
A couple of comments from yahoo news:
"Its no surprise that anyone who would want to return our country to the days when we were prosperous, the government supported our businesses, and jobs were plentiful would by definition advocate changes so radical they would be called a crackpot.
Based upon her willingness to deviate from the political herd, it is also no surprise and quite refreshing that she is not beholding to politicians on either side of the aisle.
Despite Reid's name calling she has not waivered from her principles. Most politicians would move toward the middle, compromising their principles to gain favor. She has shown the character not to do that. While she does deserve to be the next Senator from Nevada, given our tolerance for her nasty treatment by Reid, I am not so sure we deserver her."
"Darn right that the Republican Party has lost it's way, and it's going to take solid Conservatives like Sharron Angle to help right the ship. It will not all happen this year, but this is where it begins. There are establishment Republicans like Murkowski that are doing anything they can to hold onto power, and it is also happening on more local levels all over. Angle crushed the party preferred candidate because Nevada Republicans have had enough of the establishment. It happened in Alaska, Colorado and Delaware as well. If you want to go out and be a moderate, especially in a Conservative state, you do so at your own peril.
I'm liking the return to true Conservative principles, and here's hoping that the Republican Party continues in this direction. Those that don't like it on the new inside of the party are welcome to leave."
"What a disgraceful lot, Does Yahoo have no other leading story. She speaking the truth, we do not want sleazy politicans."
This is the reason for Brian Greenspun's nightmare in an other article, because the heavy media exposure right now may actually work in her favor.
If you hate your state and your country, vote for Harry Reid...!
"Petard, meet Hoist.
My schadenfreude runneth over."
Freakin' BRILLIANT!
If anyone was fooled by Angle's "I'm different, I'm not like one of the old school politicians.." act, I think they just got the curtain pulled back to see that there is no Wizard.
Just a mean little ball of lies.
"After quoting miscellaneous unattributed, anonymous, grammar-challenged, generally inarticulate "comments" that you culled from the comment sections following an unidentified number of Yahoo News articles ..."
You registered an account to respond to it ...
"LVpravdaFan, if we use the analytical framework that Christine O'Donnell suggests is the appropriate one to use in evaluating whether or not a politician is "sleazy" to what Angle had to say in that meeting with Ashjian, we are left to conclude that Sharron Angle is just another "sleazy politician" willing to "trade favors" and engage in "backroom deals"."
WyattHarper, if we use your other nicknames Zumabound & IrvingMoskowitz, we'll find a serious multiple personality disorder.
"Like a small child quivering in the dark with her fear of the menacing unknown lurking within the darkness, you try to stave off your fears about what things like this mean for the Angle campaign by "whistling in the dark", by pontificating about "Conservative values" without really addressing the grim and telling reality of what happened in that meeting between Angle and Ashjian."
The grim and telling reality is actually, that the only group of people in the US right now, where there is a CHANCE, that they don't end up corrupted within the first couple of weeks after taking office (stay independent) are people with strong religous background - given they survive a lot of temptations and dangers (which the majority will not).
The "progressive" fools have a nice example with their messiah Obama, that only the only thing that counts is the person, and not the ideas put forward or the rhetorics.
"When it all comes right down to it, you rightwingers, you "true Conservatives", you Tea Party adherents with your three-corner hats and desire to "take [your] country back", are nothing more than a bunch of hypocrites. Rather than acknowledge the ugly truth about Sharron Angle here, you choose to cover your ears with your hands, and tunelessly sing the political equivalent of "la, la, la, la, la. . ."
When it all comes right down to it, guys like Ashjan are the typical politicos, residing in Washington.
"Sharron Angle is just another "sleazy politician". When you can admit that, maybe we can talk.
In the meantime, you should practice saying, "Senator Reid"
Seneator Reid's trojan horse is a sleazy politician and has been dealt with appriopriately - for this reason the Reid campaign is working for Angle right now.
