Friday night traffic death was Henderson man

A man who died in Friday night’s crash on Seven Hills Drive was a 25-year-old Jason Eugene Hood of Henderson, according to the county coroner's office.

Hood was speeding southeast on Seven Hills Drive near Classico Way in a 2002 Mercedes-Benz about 7:40 p.m. when he failed to stay on the road during a left turn, police said. The car went off the roadway, struck boulders and trees and overturned several times.

Hood was thrown from the car and died at the scene. A passenger, Calvin Parker, 26, was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

While speed is considered a factor in the crash, police said the investigation is continuing. Toxicology tests will determine if drugs or alcohol were involved in the cause of this crash, the fourth fatal accident in Henderson this year, police said.
