Two suspects arrested for robbery-murder

Two 27-year-old Las Vegas men have been arrested by Metro Police in the robbery and murder of 62-year-old Heinz Wietfeldt.

Police arrested Kenneth Laray Thomas on Tuesday and David Jones on Wednesday.

Both men have been booked into the Clark County Detention Center one count each of murder with the use of a deadly weapon on a victim over 60, kidnapping with the use of a deadly weapon, robbery with use of a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit murder, robbery and kidnapping.

Metro detectives found Wietfeldt’s body in his 2000 white Cadillac Escalade. Wietfeldt had been reported missing on March 18 by a friend, police said.

Wietfeldt was shot by the two suspects during a robbery police said. They then placed his body in the back of the Cadillac and drove it to the 4500 block of Prada Place in Southern Highlands. The vehicle remained parked there until it was discovered on March 18, police said.
