One dead, one critical after shooting in North Las Vegas

A 34-year-old man, Anthony "Tony" Wright, was identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office today as the victim of a deadly shooting that left a woman in critical condition in a parked car Saturday.

North Las Vegas Police have arrested Charles Garner III, age and residence unknown, for murder and attempted murder for shooting Wright to death and leaving the woman riding with him at the Juke Joint Bar & Grille, 4230 E. Craig Road, with life-threatening injuries.

The woman, whose identity police are withholding, was taken to University Medical Center.

Police said the incident is still under active investigation. Officers arrived shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday and found Wright dead at the scene and the woman next to him in a vehicle.

Garner was arrested a short distance from the bar after he left the scene on foot, police said.

Anyone with information about the crime may contact Crime Stoppers at 385-5555. Cash rewards up to $2,000 are offered to anonymous persons who telephone the hotline with information that leads to arrest or indictment of those responsible for crimes.
