Federal and local law enforcement officers arrested a Nye County murder suspect Thursday in a downtown Las Vegas hotel room.
Jeffrey Ortwien Schilling was taken into custody at the Union Plaza Hotel about 9:10 a.m.
He is a suspect in the murder of Denise Adams, who was found dead in her home on Sunday, police said. Schilling was Adams's boyfriend.
Based on an anonymous tip, members of the Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT), including Metro Police and Henderson Police with the FBI and Metro's fugitive squad, knocked on the door of Schilling's room in the Union Plaza at 1 Main St. When Schilling answered the knock, he was taken into custody without incident, police said.
Police learned Schilling got a ride from a friend from Tonopah to Las Vegas. His bail has been set at $1 million.
