North Las Vegas finds money it can\'t use to close budget deficit

KSNV reports that the city of North Las Vegas found $48.6 million extra dollars in its account, but it is tied to projects and grants so it can't be used for union salaries, June 19.

  1. So does that mean the City of North Las Vegas has to give the money back, either to the grant originators or the taxpayers? I will be looking for my refund!!!

  2. 1.5 million of the money is going to pay for new furniture for the new city hall.
    It's amazing how the city council took the increased sales tax money ear marked for new cops a few years ago and spent it on other things and didn't pay it back after the court ruled they violated the law.
    How about the 2 million dollar federal grant to hire 14 new cops that the city just got. They're going to pocket the money and claim that it's going to save (guess how many jobs)them from laying off 14 existing cops.
    The crooks on Wall Street have nothing on the NLV city council.
