  1. I saw Mr. Newton approx 10 yrs ago and then again with out of town guests this last week. Sadly, the reviewers were right, Mr. Newton has gone down hill in a big way. The pipes are gone and frankly, the show was a little sad to see a great entertainer in his twilight! He should get out while folks remember him in his prime, for as of now, he is embarrasing himself. Sorry, but life does move on.

  2. No one sounds the same as time passes, and good for Wayne Newton for putting morons in their place! I'd pay to see him still. Besides that, how much longer are classic Vegas entertainers going to keep working? Especially if reviewers keep putting them down?

A singer's voice not sounding exactly the same? That's natural. Listen to Madonna's songs from he 1980's: She sounds like a smurf.

What's is sad however for a performer is when you forget your lines like Elvis, or Abbott & Costello did. That's when you're really out of the game. But simply because the voice has changed? Give me a break...

  3. Wayne makes a valid point.
Take him for what he is today. Period.
Just from the brief clip I saw he does look very entertaining.
    I would see the show.

My only comment is, and I don't know if it was the makeup or not, but it did look like he and Carrot Top may go to the same plastic surgeon. And, why cares? If he has had work done or not - so what?

We don't criticize all the men in Summerlin walking around looking like they are fresh out of the operating room with their faces pulled back to their buns.
