Here's the deal. The officer probably thought that there wouldn't be many people out on the street at that time and that he would see them. He had only been a cop for a short time therefore he was inexperienced and should of used better judgment. He should of had his lights on but hindsight is 20/20. In no way am I saying that he was in the right. I think any officer that is exceeding the speed limit or not obeying traffic laws should have his lights on but to be honest this happens more often than you think. The driver was not at fault and he wasn't drunk either as proven by the two separate tests. It is a sad day when we lose the life of anyone but the officer is at fault for this accident. Every life is precious and no matter who you are you can't take a life and get away scot-free. I feel sorry for the families involved with this and I will pray for them. Both the families because in the end that is who will pay for this. The ones left behind are the ones we should be thinking about not what mistakes were made.
