‘Ride to the Future Tour’ in Las Vegas
Sun, Aug 4, 2013 (8:45 p.m.)
Members of the “Ride to the Future Tour” arrive at Las Vegas Cyclery near I-215 and Town Center Drive in Las Vegas on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013. The tour of electric vehicles hopes to be certified for several Guinness World Records. The cross-country tour began July 4 in Charleston, S.C., and ends at Google headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., on Aug. 16. The event is the brainchild of Susan Jones, who is the owner of Xenon Motor Co., an electric scooter company. Locally, the tour is sponsored/supported by Verdek, a company that installs electric vehicle-charging stations and CNG fueling stations, Las Vegas Cyclery and Element Hotel Summerlin.
