An Energy Addition

In 2003, Las Vegas was booming. To NV Energy CEO Michael Yackira, the company’s direction was clear. NV Energy would buy and build its own plants rather than buy energy from other producers on a sometimes volatile open market. Among the power plants Yackira’s utility has since added include Chuck Lenzie, Silverhawk, Clark and Walter M. Higgins, the subject of this photo gallery.
