The average length of stay in a refugee camp is seven years. Though most refugees will eventually return home, some are unable to do so and must begin again in a new community or country. The final station of the exhibit allows visitors to record their impressions of refugee life. View photo »

A guide to the exhibit "Torn From Home: My Life as a Refugee" at the Lied Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas. Life-size cutouts of refugee people sit among the belongings and camp equipment that illustrate common conditions refugee families endure. The exhibit opens June 14.
