Aw man, you gave away the fun, campy, mysterious "secret" of The Thing!! It's a great reason to stop after hours of driving along I-10 to stretch one's legs, grab a Dairy Queen ice cream snack, pay a buck (or whatever it is these days, used to be 50 cents just 10 years ago) and walk through the exhibit to see The Thing.
