    Pending a big change by both Georges St. Pierre and UFC President Dana White, don’t expect to see the welterweight champion take on any other challenges besides defending his belt as many times as possible.

    Shane Carwin had two strategies going into Saturday’s interim title fight with Frank Mir. One: Pin Mir up against the fence where his movement would be limited. Two: Make the fight last longer than one round so people will stop asking him about his cardio. He succeeded in only one.

    Frank Mir understands why others assumed he was overwhelmed. When Mir arrived in Memphis last December to fight Cheick Kongo in UFC 107, it was hard to tell that the Las Vegas resident was one of the fiercest mixed martial arts fighters in the world. After all, he looked more like a dad taking his children to Disneyland, and not someone days away from having to be at his best in the Octagon.

Nick Diaz fails to back up years worth of talk

UFC 158 A welterweight title fight that felt incredibly different wound up remarkably the same. Georges St. Pierre manhandled nemesis Nick Diaz with his wrestling. St. Pierre won every round on every judges' scorecard in Montreal for his sixth straight unanimous-decision victory. Diaz had preached his superiority over St. Pierre for years, but when he finally got his chance, he looked as helpless as all the other challengers to the 170-pound division's throne in the last six years. St. Pierre's consistency continued to amaze. Now it's on to Johny Hendricks, who defeated Carlos Condit in the evening's co-main event. Could he be the one to finally threaten St. Pierre?
