    As many are well aware, Forrest Griffin’s success as a writer nearly equals his success as a fighter. On Saturday night, following his split decision win over Tito Ortiz at Mandalay Bay Events Center, Griffin finished a chapter in his own life. The Anderson Silva chapter.

    In Forrest Griffin's eyes, he's 1-1 against Tito Ortiz, readily admitting as much. In Tito Ortiz's eyes, he should be 2-0. But the reality of the situation is that after Saturday night's split decision loss to Griffin at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, the series is, in fact, split down the middle. What better way to build up a third meeting than to have the two fan favorite light heavyweight vets square off first as coaches on the 11th season of The Ultimate Fighter?

    Following his highlight-reel finish of Anthony Johnson by a second-round submission, Josh Koscheck got on the microphone and argued he should be next to receive the next title shot at welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. Problem: The UFC had already announced that Dan Hardy would be the next challenge to St. Pierre’s throne. Can’t blame a guy for trying.

    From the way Josh Koscheck makes it sound, his welterweight bout this Saturday at UFC 106 with Anthony Johnson may just come down to who can land the big bomb the fastest. "I think this is a good fight for the fans," Koscheck said. "You guys gotta know, this fight isn't going to the judging scorecards like the last couple of (big) fights have been in the UFC, with the (Shogun-Machida fight at UFC 104) and then the Randy Couture controversy with (Brandon) Vera.

    Since winning the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter, injuries have held Sadollah to just one fight in the last 17 months — a first round TKO defeat against Johny Hendricks at UFC 101 in August in a bout that ended in an astonishing 29 seconds. As for the veteran Baroni, the 33-year-old, who made his organization debut at UFC 30 on Feb. 23, 2001, makes his first UFC appearance since UFC 51 on Feb. 5, 2005, this Saturday.

Nick Diaz fails to back up years worth of talk

UFC 158 A welterweight title fight that felt incredibly different wound up remarkably the same. Georges St. Pierre manhandled nemesis Nick Diaz with his wrestling. St. Pierre won every round on every judges' scorecard in Montreal for his sixth straight unanimous-decision victory. Diaz had preached his superiority over St. Pierre for years, but when he finally got his chance, he looked as helpless as all the other challengers to the 170-pound division's throne in the last six years. St. Pierre's consistency continued to amaze. Now it's on to Johny Hendricks, who defeated Carlos Condit in the evening's co-main event. Could he be the one to finally threaten St. Pierre?
