Two killed when motorcycle hits car in Las Vegas

Two people were killed after a car collided with a motorcycle Monday evening, according to a Metro Police news release.

The crash occurred at the intersection of South Rainbow Boulevard and West Spring Valley Parkway North, police stated.

The report states that the motorcycle was traveling south on Rainbow at “an extremely high rate of speed” on a green light when a 2003 Mercedes-Benz E320 was stopped facing north on the same street.

With a flashing yellow left turn arrow, the Mercedes turned left, causing the bike to strike the right side of the car and the biker to be ejected onto the roadway, the release stated.

Both the 19-year-old biker and a 64-year-old passenger in the Mercedes were beyond medical help, and both were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes was transported to UMC Trauma with minor injuries.
