Las Vegas house fire does $15,000 damage

A cooking fire on Monday did an estimated $15,000 in damage at a house in the Silverado Ranch area, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

No injuries were reported, officials said.

The fire was reported about 4:20 p.m. in the 1000 block of Coral Desert Drive, near Pebble Road and Maryland Parkway, officials said.

Crews found a small fire coming from the rear of the home, officials said.

While extinguishing the fire on the exterior of the home, firefighters noted some heat and light smoke coming from inside, officials said. 

Firefighters found the source of the blaze and extinguished it, officials said.

The cause was determined to be an accidental cooking fire, officials said.
