Las Vegas police: Pedestrian critically injured in hit-and-run

A pedestrian was critically injured Wednesday in a hit-and-run incident on West Charleston Boulevard, according to Metro Police.

The incident was reported about 9:30 p.m. east of Decatur Boulevard, police said.

The 48-year old Las Vegas man was crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by an SUV, which left the scene, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The vehicle involved was a small, silver SUV, police said. It should have moderate to major front-end damage and a broken windshield, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
