The Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board has issued the first license for a cannabis consumption lounge in the state.

Smoke and Mirrors, attached to Thrive Cannabis Marketplace on Sammy Davis Jr. Drive in Las Vegas, is the first lounge to be fully licensed, the board said today.

Board agents on Tuesday completed a facility inspection to ensure the business was in compliance with state regulations, officials said.

Thrive Cannabis Marketplace was granted a conditional lounge license in June. Conditional licenses allow applicants to prepare for operation, but lounges can only open with a final license.

The board has approved 19 conditional licenses for lounges — 14 retail-attached spots and five independent businesses.

Lounges must also adhere to any local ordinances and receive approval from local jurisdictions, the board said.

Smoke and Mirrors must still gain approval from Clark County before opening.
