Ringo Starr collaborates with Linda Perry on new EP

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) – Linda Perry wrote all four songs on Ringo Starr’s new EP, “Crooked Boy” – but he wanted happy endings. Starr says many of the songs deal with how bad life is, but he always likes them to say that life is getting better. Starr says he does not ever “let them just lay in the mud.” He says Perry would often just change a word or two to show “the possibility of the gray sky is going to get blue again.” “Crooked Boy” is out now.

Pet Shop Boys don't like your concert selfies

LONDON (AP) – If you try to take a selfie at a Pet Shop Boys concert, Neil Tennant will try to mess it up. Tennant says it’s maddening for him to be pouring out his heart and soul, only to see someone trying to take a photo of themselves with him in the background. He deliberately moves out of the way. Tennant says he really feels like kicking them in the head, but of course, he does not. Tennant says holding up phones the way people used to hold up cigarette lighters is nice, because “it looks absolutely gorgeous.” The Pet Shop Boys’ new album, “Nonetheless,” is out today.
