Man missing after reportedly trying to ride wooden raft down Colorado River

A search was underway today at Grand Canyon National Park for a man believed to have tried to travel down the Colorado River on a wooden raft, according to the National Park Service.

A vehicle belonging to the man was found Sunday at Lees Ferry in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, officials said.

The missing man, who is believed to have been on the raft with his dog, was identified as Thomas L. Robison, 58, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, according to the Park Service.

Anyone who may have seen Robison should contact Grand Canyon Dispatch at 928-638-7805, the Park Service said.
