The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson is being renamed Lee’s Family Forum, officials said this morning.

Officials will mark the renaming of the 5,567-seat sports arena off Green Valley Parkway and the 215 Beltway ahead in a ceremony prior to Wednesday night's Henderson Silver Knights minor league hockey game.

The 200,000-square-foot facility is a partnership between the city of Henderson and the Vegas Golden Knights. It hosts the Silver Knights, Vegas Knight Hawks indoor football team and the Vegas Thrill, a professional women’s volleyball team.

The new name comes via a multiyear extension of Foley Entertainment Group’s partnership with Lee’s Discount Liquors, officials said. Arena signage is being replaced this week.

“This is a wonderful tribute to the Lee family and the lasting impact they continue to have across the Las Vegas Valley,” Kerry Bubolz, Foley Entertainment Group president and CEO, said in a statement. “Family is at the heart of what we offer at Lee’s Family Forum, so it’s a fitting celebration of a family we have been fortunate to know and work alongside for years.”

The family has been a strong supporter of the Golden Knights since 2015, when team owner Bill Foley started working to bring the expansion franchise to Southern Nevada.

Visitors to the Henderson arena will see a visual history of the Lee family and Lee’s Discount Liquor, which was founded in 1981 by the late Hae Un Lee. The business was later operated by Kenny Lee, who died in November 2021 in a car crash.

“For our business, this is an exciting opportunity to expand upon our partnership with the Foley Entertainment Group and promote our company to the passionate fans of the Henderson Silver Knights, Vegas Knight Hawks, Vegas Thrill, and all of the other events at (the arena),” Nami Lee, CEO of Lee’s Discount Liquor, said in a statement.

“On a personal level, we’re naming this arena as a gift to our beloved Kenny and Mr. Lee, because they are no longer with us, but we want to continue honoring their legacies and remembering them,” Lee said. “We also want this arena to be a gift to the families in the Henderson community, where our family-owned company is headquartered, for many years to come.”

The arena has been home to more than 350 events in its two years of existence. Henderson initially invested $42 million in the partnership with Foley Entertainment Group, which also put up $42 million for the project.

“In Henderson, we treat each other like family so it is a perfect fit to welcome the Lee family into our fold,” Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero said in a statement.

“Our residents enjoy the diverse and growing sports and entertainment options at Lee’s Family Forum and we look forward to our continued partnership with the Foley Entertainment Group and the Golden Knights organization,” Romero said.
