The Foothill football team won for the sixth consecutive week tonight, but the state favorite Falcons had some struggles in a 21-12 victory against Sierra Vista.
Foothill led 21-6 at halftime, but its high-scoring offense didn’t score in the second half as the Falcons couldn’t overcome turnovers.
“This was definitely our worst game offensively,” coach Vernon Brown said. “Hopefully this is a wake up call.”
Avant Gates had a touchdown run, Mason Dew connected with Chase Kennedy on a touchdown pass, and William Barker had an interception return for a score.
“Vista is a good team. They are athletic,” Brown said. “Our defense stepped up when we needed them to.”
