Auhsoj Cunningham had a pair of rushing touchdowns tonight for the Sunrise Mountain football team in a 28-14 victory against Del Sol.
Thomas Marcellino returned a punt for a touchdown and Christein Thompson rushed for a score, helping the Miners improve to 4-1 overall.
Coach Chris Sawyers hopes his team can “put together their best 48 minutes of football” in a rivalry game next week against neighboring Eldorado. He suspects some lethargic play tonight was due to looking ahead on the schedule.
“It was a grind,” he said.
