Micah Alejado completed 8 of 9 passes for 180 yards and four touchdowns today for the Bishop Gorman football team in a 55-0 victory against host Silverado.
One week after beating local rival Liberty, Gorman showed no signs of a hangover.
“I was happy with the way our guys prepared all week,” coach Brett Browner said. “Silverado is well coached; that’s a successful program. Our guys were focused all week.”
The meeting was a showdown of the most recent state champions, with Silverado winning the past two Class 4A titles to be promoted to the Class 5A alongside powerhouse Gorman.
Melvin Spicer IV had two touchdown passes for Gorman, Elija Lofton had a rushing and receiving touchdown, and Brandon Gaea and Audric Harris had receiving scores.
Myles Norman and Aizen Costales-Torres also found the endzone for Gorman, which led 41-0 at halftime.
