The National Weather Service said it has issued a flood advisory for Clark County until 6 p.m. today, with flash flood warnings in and around Henderson.

Thunderstorms producing heavy rain were captured on their radar at 3:18 p.m. and have brought hail as well as gusty winds with them.

Up to 1.25 inches of rain have already fallen in Henderson, Anthem, Green Valley, Paradise, Enterprise, Silverado Ranch, Seven Hills and the Henderson Executive Airport.

Life-threatening flash flooding could be possible, especially in low-water crossings, creeks and normally dry washes or roads, the weather service said.

Minor flooding in similar areas may also be imminent in Las Vegas and outlying areas due to excessive rainfall from storms.

The service advises people to “turn around, don’t drown” if they encounter flooded roads while driving.

Lake Mead and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area are also under a wind advisory until 7 p.m. due to rough waves and strong winds from 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 40 miles per hour.
