The Foothill football team led by three touchdowns in the first half Thursday night against Legacy.
What could have been a lopsided victory, turned into a close affair with the Falcons winning, 41-39, to improve to 4-1 overall.
“We came out flat in the second half,” coach Vernon Brown said.
Avant Gates Jr. had two interceptions, returning one for a 35-yard touchdown. He also caught one of Mason Dew’s three touchdown passes.
Chase Kennedy and Ethan Stubbs had the other touchdown receptions. Eugene Altobella III had rushing touchdowns of 8 and 6 yards.
