RJ Olivieri rushed and passed for two touchdowns tonight for the Somerset Losee football team in a 41-6 playoff win against visiting Western.
It was the first playoff appearance and win for the second year program.
“I am super proud of the kids,” coach Dan Barnson said. “They are really coming into their own. They have bought into the system.”
Levi Sessi had a 77-yard touchdown in the win, and Malachi Johnson also rushed for a score.
Kieran Daniel had scoring receptions of 56 and 16 yards. Somerset plays Mojave next week in the Class 4A Desert League semifinals.
Somerset beat Mojave by 21 points last week as part of its seven-game winning streak, but Barnson expects the rematch to be close. Mojave defeated Rancho 38-8 tonight.
“It was a lot closer than the score indicated,” he said of the first meeting.
