Tyrese Smith passed for three touchdowns and rushed for another tonight for the Liberty High football team in a 48-6 playoff win against Silverado.
It marked the 14th straight season Liberty has won a postseason game. The Patriots are 37-12 in playoff games since 2009, with nine of the defeats coming to Bishop Gorman.
Jayden Robertson, Andre Porter and Kellen Iwamuro had touchdown receptions. Ezra Sanelivi and Isaiah Lauofo had rushing scores.
Liberty advances to the Class 5A, Division-I semifinals to face Shadow Ridge. Last week, it beat Shadow Ridge by just three points.
“Shadow Ridge did a great job of running the ball and eating the clock,” Liberty coach Rich Muraco said.
