A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle early this morning in Las Vegas, according to a Metro Police news release.
Shortly before 1 a.m., a Dodge Durango was traveling south on Las Vegas Boulevard in the right lane approaching Arby Avenue.
The collision occurred when the 18-year-old pedestrian entered the path of the Dodge, the release stated.
Medical personnel determined the pedestrian to be beyond resuscitation and was declared dead at the scene.
The 37-year-old driver remained at the scene and showed signs of impairment when examined by responding officers, the release stated. He was arrested and booked into Clark County Detention Center.
