There are just two weeks remaining in high school football’s regular season.
We started in the middle of August with temperatures of more than 100 degrees. Tonight, we’ll break out jackets for the first time — a sign that the playoffs are approaching.
But before we get to the postseason, there are some heated races for division titles.
Liberty is looking to solidify second place in the Class 5A with a victory against Arbor View in a battle of two of the state’s unquestioned top teams. Bishop Gorman can win the league title tonight by beating Desert Pines.
In Class 5A Division II, Foothill visits Faith Lutheran in a battle of teams with undefeated league records, and in the Class 4A it’s another contest of squads with perfect conference records in Mojave challenging Centennial.
Close games are also expected with Palo Verde taking on Legacy, and Sunrise Mountain visiting Canyon Springs.
And, of course, the slate of game's tonight includes one of the state's best rivalries in the annual Henderson Bowl game between Basic and Green Valley.
