A pedestrian suffered a serious injury after being hit by a vehicle that then fled the scene this morning according to a Metro Police news release.
The man was crossing South Main Street south of Bonanza outside of a crosswalk at about 6 a.m., when he was struck by the vehicle, the release stated.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the collision scene, and the man was transported to UMC Trauma for treatment of his serious injuries.
Information about the make and model of the vehicle was not released.
The collision remains under investigation.
