Driver of septic service truck killed in crash northwest of Las Vegas

A man driving a septic tank service truck was killed this morning when his truck overturned on a road northwest of Las Vegas, according to a Metro Police news release.

The crash occurred at about 11:15 a.m. on Cold Creek Road west of U.S. Route 95.

The truck failed to maintain its lane as it was traveling east. The vehicle left the roadway to the right before overcorrecting and veering off the road to the left, traveling about a quarter of a mile before striking a raised dirt berm, the release stated.

The front of the truck hit the berm, causing the truck to rotate end over end, coming to rest about 50 feet from the berm, according to police.

The driver, a 62-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene.
