A body was found this morning on a field outside Harney Middle School in Las Vegas, according to the Clark County School District.
Metro Police were conducting an investigation at the shared-use athletic fields near the school, the district said in a statement.
The district and its police department were cooperating with the investigation, and there was no threat to the school or students, the statement said.
"As the investigation is ongoing, the decision was made to move Harney Middle School students to Las Vegas High School for the day," the district said.
Metro said it responded at 6:21 a.m. to a report of a deceased person at a school property. Police did not provide any information about the person, and no other details were immediately available.
The school is located off Hollywood Boulevard, just south of Charleston Boulevard, in the east valley. The school abuts Hollywood Regional Park.
