Fire breaks out at Las Vegas restaurant; nobody injured

Fire broke out at a Las Vegas restaurant this morning, but firefighters extinguished the blaze within minutes and nobody was injured, the Clark County Fire Department said.

The fire was reported about 5:55 a.m. at the restaurant in the 3400 block of South Jones Boulevard, officials said. A manager said smoke was coming from the roof, officials said.

When firefighters arrived, flames were coming out the front door of the building, officials said.

Crews entered the building and scrambled onto the roof, putting out the blaze in less than 10 minutes, officials said.

The fire started in the kitchen, officials said, but no cause or damage estimate was provided.
