A fire was reported early Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Jessie Rae’s BBQ, 5611 S. Valley View Blvd.
Jessie Rae’s BBQ owner Mike Ross said he plans to reopen after a fire destroyed the restaurant's Las Vegas location early this morning.
The restaurant, a favorite among locals and tourists, received an outpouring of support after announcing on social media that the eatery was a "total loss."
"We love our city and everyone in it," Ross said via a text message. "They are amazing, and we are honored to have the support of the community."
Ross said the “how or when” of reopening is unknown.
The fire was reported about 12:30 a.m. today at the restaurant at 5611 S. Valley View Blvd., the Clark County Fire Department said.
Heavy smoke was coming from the building and flames from the windows, officials said. The ceiling partially collapsed, officials said.
The fire was largely out about 10 minutes after crews arrived, officials said. Nobody was found in the building, and no firefighters were injured, officials said.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation, the fire department said. But a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page described it as an electrical fire.
“We will figure out what’s going on. Sorry for the inconvenience,” the post said.
The post noted that the restaurant’s location at 308 N. Boulder Highway in Henderson remains open.
