Two people were injured in a shooting stemming from a suspected road rage incident this morning in North Las Vegas, according to a news release from North Las Vegas Police.

Officers responded to reports that two people in a Nissan SUV had been shot near the area of North 5th Street and Lone Mountain Road, the release stated. After the shooting, the vehicle the victims were in was driven to a nearby business in the 1200 block of East Craig Road, where they were met by officers and medical personnel.

Both victims, a man believed in his 30s and his daughter, a 6-year-old girl, were transported to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening gunshot wounds, police said. They were in stable condition and recovering, the release stated.

For reasons unknown, a suspected road rage incident occurred between occupants of a Scion xB and the Nissan, which resulted in shots allegedly being fired from the Scion. The Scion’s driver then allegedly fled the area before police arrived.

Police later arrested two suspects. Donavyn Stern, 23, was taken into custody at a residence in the 4500 block of Testarossa Lane, police said. He was booked at the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center on four counts of attempted murder, two counts of child abuse and/or neglect involving a deadly weapon, and two counts of battery with the use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, police said.

Also taken into custody was Zachary Stern, 39, who was also determined to be Donavyn Stern’s uncle. He was located and taken into custody in the 1100 block of East Craig Road. He was booked into North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center on counts of destroying and/or concealing evidence, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, resisting a police officer and bicycle rider failing to ride on right side of the road, police said.
