Responders put out small fire at Las Vegas Strip casino

A small fire Friday night at a Las Vegas Strip casino was put out by the Clark County Fire Department and is under investigation, according to a news release from the county.

At 8:50 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of a fire at Horseshoe Casino. A second alarm was called due to high potential for injury. The first engine company arrived to find nothing showing, met with security, gathered equipment and began to head inside the property.

Clark County Fire Department crews made their way to the 19th floor to find a small fire. Sprinklers were activated which kept the fire contained to a small area, and crews extinguished the remainder of the burning material.

Some people sought medical attention on scene, but none of them requested transportation to a hospital. There were no reports of fire fighter injuries.

A total of 11 engines, 3 trucks, 1 heavy rescue and 76 personnel responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no dollar loss amount has been determined.
