Ricky Sampson Jr. had a pair of touchdown passes tonight for the Legacy football team in a 34-12 victory over Durango.

Myron West had the game’s biggest play with a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown, helping Legacy win for the second straight week after opening the season 0-3.

“We had to go through some downs before we went through some ups,” Legacy coach Zach Monticelli said. “We keep telling the kids that they were close, and we had to clean up some little things.”

Monticelli said the team started practicing better and playing as a team.

Jireh Green had a fumble return for a touchdown for Legacy, who also had receiving scores from Dominic Oliver and Rontae Barrow. Phoenix Jennings added a touchdown run.
