The Liberty High football program continued some impressive postseason streaks tonight with a 49-21 win over visiting Foothill.

The victory gives the Patriots a playoff win in every season since in 2009. And even more impressive: The Patriots have never lost a home game in the postseason.

Isaiah Lauofo rushed for a touchdown and more than 100 yards against Foothill, Jayden Robertson returned a punt for a touchdown, and Tyrese Smith had an 11-yard touchdown run.

Landon Bell, Andre Porter and Jeremiah Ioane also tallied touchdowns for Liberty. Foothill scored a two touchdowns in the second half once the game went into the mercy rule of a running clock.

Liberty will host Arbor View in the second round next week in what will be the unquestioned game of the week. Liberty knocked Arbor View out of the playoffs last season, but Arbor View will be coming off a 59-0 victory tonight against Green Valley.

Liberty’s postseason win streak could very much be at risk.

“They are really good. We are going to have to play our best,” Liberty coach Rich Muraco said. “They have some good players over there. As long as we play our style of football and the kids come focused, we’ll have a good shot.”
