Robert Wren had a pair of touchdown runs tonight for the Basic football team in a 21-14 victory against Clark in the regular season finale.

Basic committed six turnovers in the first half and trailed by five points at halftime but didn’t allow any points in a turnover-free second half to earn a No. 2 playoff seed. The Wolves get a bye into the second round.

“Clark played well. Give them credit,” Basic coach Jeff Cahill said. “We came out and played a lot cleaner in the second half.”

Basic’s first points came on a safety by Antoine Taylor, helping the Wolves survive a first half that saw them lose a fumble at the 1-yard line and had another fumble returned for a touchdown. Anthony Vega added a rushing touchdown for Basic.
