Micah Kaapana rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries Friday night for the Bishop Gorman football team in a 41-3 regional semifinal win against visiting Desert Pines.

Trech Kekahuna had eight receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown, and quarterback Micah Alejado completed 16-of-20 passes for 253 yards and two scores.

Jaxton Maile-Stites and Zachariah Branch added touchdowns for the Gaels, while LSU commit Jeremiah Hughes had a pair of interceptions.

Desert Pines kicker Adrian Carnero booted a short field goal in the first half for the Jaguars’ lone points — but they were significant. It marked the first time Gorman had been scored on this season in seven games against a local opponent.

Desert Pines picked up three straight first downs on that scoring drive, and unlike other Las Vegas opponents, weren’t immediately overwhelmed against the powerhouse Gaels.

Gorman advances to the regional finals next week against host Liberty.
