Man wins poker jackpot of $800K at Caesars Palace in Vegas

A table games player won close to $800,000 after landing a jackpot at Caesars Palace on Sunday, according to a news release.

Kyle Johnson of Eagle Mountain, Utah, won a the jackpot with a royal flush while playing Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em. In this version of poker, players compete against the dealer — and not each other.

The jackpot was worth just under $780,000. Johnson said he had been playing at the table for about 30 minutes before he garnered the memorable hand.

A regular casino poker player, Johnson said he plans to pay off his mortgage with the winnings.
