Henderson man, 78, is killed in west valley crash

An elderly motorist was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on a west valley road, according to Metro Police.

The 78-year-old Henderson man died at University Medical Center, police said.

The crash was reported shortly before 9 a.m. near Lake Mead and Sun City boulevards, police said.

The man killed was heading west in a 2018 Dodge Charger when a 2005 Toyota 4Runner, which was heading east, turned into its direction at the intersection, police said.

The teenage driver suffered minor injuries, police said. Impairment was not suspected.

This was the 108th traffic fatality in Metro's jurisdiction of 2018.
